So it's all over in a flash...'Loot:MAD 13' is over! I had the most amazing time and met some brilliant people along the way. There is a flickr page with photos documenting the weeks events, from the cocktail party at organiser Michele Cohen's house, set up and opening night. While away I managed to squeeze in a bit of sightseeing...central park, times square, top of the rock and rummaged my way through many of the Williamsburg flea markets/vintage shops. I even managed to take my rings out for a little shoot at possibly my favourite place/view of the whole trip-sitting on the Williamsburg side of the East river looking over to Manhatten, it was so quiet here and then looking over to the big busy city was brilliant! So todays job is unpacking my jewellery suitcase, catching up on emails/orders, and easing my way back into normal jewellery life again...swapping my cocktail for a decent cup of tea - one thing New York didn't do well ha! ha! - sorry x

NEW YORK!!! x
So here's the details of the show I'm taking part in VERY soon! The jewellery is already out there. And thanks to funding from creative scotland I'll be able to go out myself to join it next weekend. Looking forward to meeting lots of new people, exploring, and generally enjoying escaping the workshop before the 'C' madness hits. x x

Photo shoot...
Just before I posted the pieces down to Lesley Craze Gallery I gave them to William Dickson who has used some of my pieces before in his beautiful shoots. Here's some of the results. I know colour is my thing but I thought these looked amazing as images simple in black and white. Thanks to Camille Perrin(model) and Rachel Gallagher(make up)

finished pieces...
Okay so I've finished a couple of the pieces for the 'special' show.... here's a couple of pictures for you to see!!
This is the 'bubble brooch'- its about 9cm wide so it's definitely a statement piece. It has what I call a 'reverse dot' pattern in the centre of the brooch, then I've added the resin 'spots' on the corner at different heights using nylon thread which create quite interesting shadows across the piece.
These is my 'mega mix-up earring set!! You can mix and match between the large earrings and the studs. There is also the extra fitting which can attach to the studs to give a different look. The earrings are mainly resin with 9ct gold chain and oxidised silver chain. This is the first time I've used gold in my work, but won't be the last-I love the colour agains the resin x x
Just the necklace to finish now-I've got ALOT of wet and drying to do before it's finished so I'd better crack on....

Special @ Lesley craze...
Next big task...I've been asked to take part in an exhibition @ Lesley craze gallery, which will coincide with Collect, which is quite exciting.
'SPECIAL' brings together 15 critically acclaimed artists, all using very different materials and techniques. This exhitition has been conceived as a way of exploring what makes an object "special".
I'm looking forward to the challenge of making some one off/larger pieces for this show as it's a good reason to experiment and have some fun with my work. The exhibition will run from the 8th -30th of May.
